About Us

Celectron-E was set up in 1971 by Cyril Edridge to sell to the booming electronic component hobby market – which is where the name came from.

Within a few years Celectron-E became successful enough to require the printing of a specialist brochure. The cost of the printing surprised Mr Edridge so much that he bought his own printing press to produce the second version of that brochure. Within a year Celectron-E was receiving more orders for printed stationery than electronic components and in 1975 the company was renamed Celectron Printing.

When offered early retirement from his full time job in 1984, Mr Edridge moved from his garage premises at home to permanent premises on Llandow Industrial Estate (Now renamed Vale Business Park). This area is soon to benefit from the exciting new bypass and town development Llandow Newydd, which will see 2750 new homes built.

In 1985 his son, Simon joined him, and the company grew steadily from there. The original premises have been extended several times to accommodate new equipment and a larger staff, and a significant customer base has been established. In April 2000, due to Cyril's failing health, Simon was encouraged to buy the company. Sadly Mr Edridge senior passed away in 2001.

Eight years after Simon bought the company, it has expanded even further with investment in new equipment, environmental accreditation and workflow control procedures.
